Saints head coach Kellen Moore said rookie WR Jordyn Tyson will miss time with a right hamstring issue, per ESPN's Katherine Terrell. Moore wouldn’t give a timetable, but he did mention that “it could” potentially linger into Week 1 of the regular season.
2026 Fantasy Football Impact: Week 1 Already In Play
Tyson’s hamstring trouble dates back to October 2025, when he first strained it at Arizona State. Just over a month after the initial strain, he did it again, causing him to opt out of the final game of the season and miss the NFL Combine.
Tyson was a top-10 pick this past April, the second player taken at his position. He’s the seventh wide receiver in the past three classes to get taken that high joining Marvin Harrison Jr, Malik Nabers, Rome Odunze, Travis Hunter, Tetairoa McMillan, and Carnell Tate.
Tyson had a case to go even higher after becoming the only collegiate wide receiver to post at least 20.0 fantasy points per game (PPG) and a 32% target share last season. But the injury concerns that kept him out of the scouting combine and his pro day weighed on his draft profile.
While Moore said the injury isn’t related to the previous hamstring issues Tyson dealt with at Arizona State, the availability concerns are only growing, especially if they delay his NFL debut.
