Texans LB Henry To'oTo'o left Sunday's loss to the Bills with a left-shoulder injury. The team is expected to place him on IR, and it's not yet clear whether they'll designate him to return.

HC DeMeco Ryans on Monday: "Unfortunately, Henry had a shoulder injury. He'll be out for some time now."
Ryans reportedly added that the team hasn't yet decided on whether the LB will land on IR.
Jonathan M. Alexander of the Houston Chronicle: "If To'oTo'o were to go on IR, he would be the fourth key contributor on the list along with defensive tackle Kayden McDonald, receiver Tank Dell and offensive lineman Braden Smith. The NFL allows teams to bring back up to eight players. And it's only Week 2. So depending on how long To'oTo'o is out, the Texans will have a decision to make."
Expect that initial IR decision before Houston has to finalize the roster for its Week 2 home date with the Bengals.
2026 Fantasy Football Impact: No Clear Replacement
LB Jake Hansen replaced To'oTo'o against the Bills and looks like the top candidate to start alongside Azeez Al-Shaair this Sunday. But there are other competitors for playing time.
Jake Hummel is reportedly week-to-week with a groin injury he suffered against Buffalo. He'd likely sit ahead of Hansen on the depth chart at full health but doesn't seem likely to be ready for Week 2.
Round 4 rookie Wade Woodaz could also get a look at some point.
In short, don't treat any Houston LB like a To'oTo'o handcuff just yet.
E.J. Speed would have factored into the backup plan but is on the PUP list with a quad injury that might cost him the full season.
