NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that Colts WR Alec Pierce will miss at least several weeks and "likely" land on IR for the heel he re-injured Sunday night against the Chiefs.
What They're Saying
Rapoport: "Pierce ... will attempt to rehab the ailment rather than have surgery. ... If all goes well, he could recover without surgery. But it's not a guarantee. Surgery is still possible."
2026 Fantasy Football Impact: You Might Wanna Dump Pierce
The way Rapoport worded all that sure makes it seem like Pierce is hopeful the rehab can work rather than confident it will.
Assuming he hits IR, Pierce would be out until at least Week 7. And it'd be difficult to trust him in lineups for at least a couple of games beyond that.
If we figure at least a 5-6 week window before we can consider starting Pierce in fantasy -- with no guarantee that he's ready after that -- he becomes a droppable entity in many leagues.
You can certainly stash him in an IR spot if you have it available. Otherwise don't cling too tightly to the Colts wideout as you make your roster decisions this week.
Remember that even last year, in his best fantasy season yet by 2.1 PPR points per game, Pierce landed just 27th at the position in that category.
Other Winners & Losers: Slayton Changing the Depth Chart
Laquon Treadwell got the biggest bump after Pierce left on Sunday night. He wound up tied for third among all Colts in routes (25), trailing Josh Downs (30) and Tyler Warren (27) while matching Jonathan Taylor.
Treadwell caught all three of his targets for 61 yards.
The Colts are also signing Darius Slayton, who could quickly push for that role.
