Chargers RB Omarion Hampton has gotten off to a rough usage start in four games under new OC Mike McDaniel. Sunday's loss to the Seahawks, however, marked the first time he has watched a teammate amass more carries. Keaton Mitchell rushed a team-high 10 times for 39 yards. Hampton drew 9 carries but did take them for 45 yards and a TD. Kimani Vidal rushed five times for 25 yards. Both Mitchell (6) and Vidal (3) beat Hampton's 2 targets. Hampton caught both of his for 8 yards. Mitchell tied for the team lead with 5 catches, gaining 24 yards. Vidal supplied 2 catches for 11 yards.
2026 Fantasy Football Impact: Hampton's Role Makes for Huge Letdown
Hampton's weekly carry shares have looked bad for a guy with a Round 2 ADP:
- 57.1%
- 71.9%
- 53.6%
- 28.1%
His 52.7% share for the season ranks just 22nd league-wide. And that issue's exacerbated by his poor receiving role.
Hampton ranks 50th among RBs in route participation (27.3%) and 65th in target share (4.3%). Mitchell beats him in both categores (32.3% and 8.1%).
Vidal barely played over the first two weeks, logging just 11 total snaps and garnering no touches. But he has run a route on 30.7% of Chargers dropbacks and garnered a 9.4% target share over the past two weeks.
Combine all those share numbers with the overall struggles of the L.A. offense, and Hampton's fantasy outlook is in rough shape.
If you can find a sell opportunity off his Week 4 TD -- Hampton sits a decent RB18 for the week in PPR ahead of Monday night's game -- then take it.
This looks like an offense to abandon for fantasy purposes.
