Quentin Johnston Headshot

Chargers WR Quentin Johnston managed just 1 catch among 2 targets in Sunday's loss at Seattle. That lone reception did gobble up 44 yards, at least, which landed him second among Chargers in receiving yards for the game. But he tied RB Omarion Hampton and WR Ladd McConkey (who left in the first half) for just fifth on the team in targets. Tre' Harris led the team's WRs with 5 targets and 3 catches for a team-high 60 yards.

2026 Fantasy Football Impact: Don't Let Johnston Back Into Your Lineup

It was Johnston's second 1-catch game through four weeks. He only had two games with fewer than 2 catches all last year, and a mere two others with only 2 catches.

This season finds Johnston working on a terrible 36.8% catch rate, along with career-lows in most categories. He also notably trailed Harris in playing time at Seattle.

Harris played 93% of the snaps to Johnston's 74.6% and ran a route on 90.7% of Justin Herbert's dropbacks, vs. 79.1% for Johnston.

That still kept Johnston well ahead of No. 3 Marquez Valdes-Scantling, at least. And any further missed time for McConkey (foot injury) would help his potential opportunity.

But the performance combo of Johnston, his struggling QB, and his buffering offense make this a player to avoid in fantasy until he proves otherwise.
