Courtland Sutton Headshot

Broncos WR Courtland Sutton caught 2 of 3 targets for 18 yards and a TD in Sunday’s 23-17 win over the Chargers. His longest catch went for 13 yards, and the TD carried him to 9.8 PPR points. Sutton played 80.6% of the snaps, more than usual, with Pat Bryant on injured reserve. Denver’s top three WRs had nearly identical days. Jaylen Waddle caught 2 passes for 19 yards, and Troy Franklin had 2 for 16. Bo Nix threw only 27 passes for 123 yards.

2026 Fantasy Football Impact: The Volume Problem

Sutton entered the week with just 9 catches for 86 yards on 22 targets, averaging 21.5 yards per game. His 3 targets fell short of his 5.5 per game average, though he did score his first TD of the season. The extra snaps are a positive, but the run-first approach under new playcaller Sean Payton is a big negative. Denver ran more than it passed, and Franklin took over most of Bryant’s role at 62.9% of snaps. The Chargers entered ranked 17th in PPR points allowed to WRs (32.9 per game) and 16th in our pass defense power rankings.

Denver visits the Seahawks in Week 6, then hosts the Cardinals and Chiefs. Seattle allows the 2nd-fewest PPR points to WRs (22.1 per game) and ranks 1st in our pass defense power rankings. Arizona is the clear bounce-back spot, allowing the 8th-most WR points (37.5) and ranking 30th in our pass defense power rankings. Kansas City allows the fewest WR points in the league (21.6). Sutton is a WR4 who’s hard to trust if Payton sticks with this run-pass split, with the Cardinals game as his only appealing matchup upcoming.
