Mike Evans Headshot

49ers WR Mike Evans is expected to miss Week 9 against the Raiders, according to GM John Lunch. Evans has been dealing with Achilles tendinitis and a prior rib injury. He missed practice yesterday and may not practice at all this week

What They're Saying: Lynch expects two absences

GM John Lynch: “It's likely Mike Evans and Deebo Samuel will not be available Sunday against the Raiders.”

2026 Fantasy Football Impact: Purdy slides, Kittle climbs

Lynch also communicated that WR Deebo Samuel is expected to miss the game.

That certainly downgrades the 49ers offense as a whole, including QB Brock Purdy for your fantasy team. RB Christian McCaffrey’s status also remains up in the air for this week.

The team may get WR Demarcus Robinson back to help fill the void, though WR Christian Kirk also looks likely to miss the game.

Robinson and Brandin Cooks could be deep league starts this week due to the lack of WRs. Those absences also boost George Kittle, and possibly Kaelon Black if he gets the start this week.

The Achilles tendinitis could linger for Evans, so don’t expect him to definitely play in Week 10.
