Geoff Swaim Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

The Cardinals will be signing TE Geoff Swaim, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. Swaim -- who will turn 30 on Sept. 16 -- spent the past three years in Tennessee, after one with Jacksonville and four in Dallas. He caught just 12 passes last season, despite leading Titans TEs in playing time. Swaim caught a career-high 31 balls the year before and has reached double digits in just four of eight seasons. His arrival in Arizona could just mean early insurance against Zach Ertz's ACL return -- or it could signal doubt about Ertz's status. Either way, we're not moving Trey McBride down our TE rankings for this signing.

Titans TE Austin Hooper trailed teammate Geoff Swaim in both snaps (69% vs. 62%) and targets (4-2) in Sunday's loss to the Giants. Swaim turned his 4 looks into a 3-19 receiving line, with Hooper catching just 1 ball for 6 yards. Rookie TE Chig Okonkwo added 1 catch for 11 yards and a carry for minus-4 while playing 15% of snaps. This looks like a committee situation to avoid as much as possible in fantasy football lineups.

Titans TE Geoff Swaim (concussion) is active for today’s game vs. the Patriots. He’s been Tennessee’s most productive TE lately but would be a desperation fantasy play.

Titans TE Geoff Swaim (concussion) is listed as questionable for this weekend's game vs. the Patriots. He was a full-go on Wednesday, sidelined on Thursday and then a full participant again on Friday. So it's tough to know where he is in the protocol. Tennessee could use all the help it can get on Sunday with WRs A.J. Brown, Julio Jones and Marcus Johnson out -- along with, of course, RB Derrick Henry.

Titans TE Anthony Firkser (knee) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Colts. With Firkser sidelined last week, TE MyCole Pruitt ran 19 routes (40%) and saw 3 targets vs. TE Geoff Swaim’s 17 routes (38%) and 2 targets. Neither is a viable fantasy play.

Titans TE Anthony Firkser (knee) remained sidelined for Thursday's practice. He's looking unlikely to play vs. the Colts this weekend. TEs MyCole Pruitt and Geoff Swaim split pass routes with Firkser out last week, leaving both guys without bankable fantasy value.

Titans TE Anthony Firkser (knee) is inactive for today’s game against the Seahawks. That leaves Geoff Swaim and MyCole Pruitt as Tennessee’s top TEs.
