Jets HC Adam Gase tells ESPN that he would like to "lessen the load" a bit on RB Le'Veon Bell in 2020. "Hopefully, we can get some of the younger backs to where we can make a good one-two punch to where we can really excel instead of feeling like it's just all on him all the time," Gase said. Bell ranked 8th in the league in touches in his 1st season with the Jets (despite missing a game). He handled 69.8% of the team's rushing attempts and 16.1% of the targets in his 15 contests. So there's room for Bell to shed some opportunities and still rank well in those categories. Gase said in the same interview that he hopes more downfield speed in the pass-catching corps will help create space for Bell, who faced the league's 7th-highest rate of stacked boxes on run plays last year (according to NFL Next Gen Stats). With just Kenneth Dixon, 4th-rounder La'Micael Perine and former Eagle Josh Adams currently behind him on the depth chart, we're not worried about anyone stealing a damaging amount of work from the Jets starter.

The Ravens have reached an injury settlement with RB Kenneth Dixon that releases him from IR, according to Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic. The 25-year-old is now a free agent. We saw no report of a specific injury when Baltimore placed Dixon on IR. Zrebiec says, "It seems unlikely he will quickly resurface as he is rehabbing a fractured knee but should be back on NFL radars next spring." Dixon played 3 of Baltimore's 4 preseason games, though, including 13 carries for 66 yards in Thursday night's finale. It's hard to see why he wouldn't be on the 2019 radar. We'll be watching to see where he lands.

The Ravens on Saturday placed RB Kenneth Dixon on season-ending IR. We've seen no report of a specific injury, so this seems like a situation where we could see an injury settlement. That would allow Dixon to find a new team. He's obviously not a fantasy asset to any degree until that happens. The move clears the way for Baltimore's expected top 3 at RB: Mark Ingram, Justice Hill and Gus Edwards.

Ravens RB Ty Montgomery is a surprise inactive for today's game against the Bucs. That leaves the backfield to Gus Edwards, Kenneth Dixon and Buck Allen. Dixon's volume has been on the rise, and he's in play as a RB3 or flex this weekend.

The Ravens have placed RB Alex Collins on IR with the foot injury that cost him last week's game. He reportedly won't need surgery. The team is also activating RB Kenneth Dixon from IR. He's been out since suffering a knee injury back in Week 1 but could see time Sunday against the Falcons, especially with RB Gus Edwards entering the game questionable. We expect Edwards to play, especially after he finished the week with a full practice. Dixon is a pickup option for many leagues, though, as an Edwards handcuff or Collins replacement. Buck Allen remains in the mix as well.

Ravens RB Kenneth Dixon has been designated as 1 of the team's return-from-IR players and has been cleared to practice. He's been sidelined since hurting his knee in the season opener. It's unclear how close Dixon is to being game ready. But when he gets back out there, he'll be returning to a backfield with Alex Collins, Buck Allen and Ty Montgomery. Dixon isn't worth a fantasy roster spot right now.

The Ravens have placed RB Kenneth Dixon on IR with the knee injury he suffered in Sunday's season opener. It's unclear if he's a candidate to return in 8 weeks, but he's not worth stashing on any redraft rosters. Baltimore moves forward with Alex Collins in the lead role and Buck Allen handling pass-catching duties.

Ravens RB Kenneth Dixon injured his knee late in Sunday's win over the Bills, according to The Athletic's Jeff Zrebiec. We don't have any other details yet, but Zrebiec adds that "the expectation is he'll miss some time." Dixon has been unable to stay healthy as a pro and isn't worth a roster spot in redraft leagues. His absence leaves Alex Collins and Buck Allen as Baltimore's healthy RBs.

Ravens RB Kenneth Dixon (knee) participated in this past week's OTAs after missing all of 2017 with a torn meniscus. “The knee feels very good," Dixon said. "Battling some things you have to battle when you get back on the field with flexibility and all those things, but the knee feels totally well and I’m just ready to play." Barring a setback, that knee shouldn't be an issue in 2018. Alex Collins heads to training camp as Baltimore's lead back, but Dixon is capable of pushing for a significant role -- especially in the passing game. He tallied 63 catches across his final 2 seasons at Louisiana Tech and caught 30 balls in his 2016 rookie campaign. Highlight Dixon as a potential late-round sleeper in PPR drafts.

Ravens RB Kenneth Dixon is expected to be ready for OTAs, HC John Harbaugh said Thursday. A popular 2017 sleeper, Dixon missed the entire season after July surgery to repair a torn meniscus. It was his 3rd knee surgery since arriving in Baltimore in the 4th round of the 2016 draft. Dixon was also slapped with performance-enhancing-drug and substance-abuse suspensions this past year. So there are a ton of red flags here. Dixon isn't even a lock to be on Baltimore's 2018 roster. But there's also still upside for a 23-year-old who put up big college numbers on the ground and through the air.

Ravens RB Kenneth Dixon has been suspended 2 games for violating the leagues' substance abuse policy. This is in addition to his previous 4-game ban for PEDs. Dixon will serve all 6 games on IR this season and be eligible for the start of 2018. We'll see if Baltimore sticks by him. Dixon obviously has off-the-field issues to work out but turns just 24 in January.

Ravens RB Kenneth Dixon will miss the entire 2017 season after undergoing surgery today to repair his torn meniscus, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. The meniscus needed to be completely repaired, rather than the trimming procedure that would have sidelined him 6-8 weeks. Dixon's rehab is now expected to take 4-5 months. He should be a full-go for the start of the 2018 campaign, but he's now had 3 knee injuries in just a little more than a year in the NFL. Terrance West is the big winner here -- essentially locked in as the lead ball-carrier on an offense that should run more this year with Greg Roman on staff. He's not an exciting talent but should at least be a volume-based RB3 or flex. RB Danny Woodhead should also pick some up extra carries while dominating passing-down work.

Ravens RB Kenneth Dixon will undergo knee surgery today, according to the Baltimore Sun's Jeff Zrebiec. The team believes Dixon has a torn meniscus but will know more after the operation. Zrebiec notes that meniscus tears usually sideline guys for 6-8 weeks -- but that can vary based on the severity. Dixon, of course, is suspended for the first 4 games of the season, so it's possible that this injury doesn't cost him any additional time. But he'll likely miss all of training camp and the preseason, costing him valuable reps to earn playing time. It's also worth noting that Dixon suffered a pair of knee injuries last summer, so durability is certainly becoming a concern. There's still a chance that he emerges as Baltimore's lead RB at some point this season, but Dixon can't be drafted as more than a late-round flier at this point. Terrance West will serve as the primary ball-carrier early on. Danny Woodhead will handle the majority of the pass-catching work.

Ravens HC John Harbaugh told The Associated Press this week that RB Danny Woodhead is "a big part of the passing game." QB Joe Flacco added that the free-agent addition returned something to the offense that had been missing since Ray Rice left. "Ever since we lost Ray, we haven't had the type of back quite like Ray was and quite like Danny is in the passing game," Flacco said. "They just have a very good feel for when they're open, how to get open, how to sit in holes, how to find my eyes." Rice caught 58+ passes in each of his 5 seasons as Baltimore's starter, including years of 76 and 78. Woodhead will have to share his new backfield with deft receiving back Kenneth Dixon once the later returns from a PED suspension. But a team that has lost WR Steve Smith, TE Dennis Pitta and WR Kamar Aiken from last year offers lots of available targets. Woodhead's a nice PPR value at his current mid-Round 7 ADP in MFL10 drafting.

According to The Baltimore Sun's Jeff Zrebiec, "team officials have said repeatedly they are content with [Terrance] West as the lead guy." The Ravens signed Danny Woodhead early in free agency but otherwise added nothing to the backfield. West returns on just his 1-year restricted free-agent tender after trailing Kenneth Dixon in carries 3 of the final 4 games last year. But the 2 split the work even then, and Dixon will miss the 1st 4 games of 2017 because of a PED suspension. That presents opportunity for West, at the least. Of course, he failed to hold the top job with the same opportunity last year. We'd bet on a committee approach here, with Woodhead and Dixon carrying significantly more fantasy upside than West -- especially in PPR formats.

ESPN's Jamison Hensley reports that RB Kenneth Dixon has been suspended 4 games for violating the league's PED policy. Consider that the 2nd blow today against a fantasy outlook that seemed quite intriguing just yesterday. Dixon returned from a summer knee injury to show flashes as a rookie while sharing the backfield with RB Terrance West and then hit the offseason looking like the best bet to lead the way in 2017. But the suspension arrives with the free-agent addition of RB Danny Woodhead. Dixon now looks like a fantasy reserve worth a shot somewhere in the double-digit rounds of your draft. There remains plenty of upside if he finds opportunity, at least.
