The Chiefs have agreed to a three-year deal with LB Nick Bolton. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the contract is worth $45 million, with $30 million of that fully guaranteed. That keeps Bolton from reaching unrestricted free agency.
Chiefs LB Nick Bolton left Wednesday's practice after injuring his left elbow. He reportedly spent a while in the medical tent by the field before riding a cart to the locker room. It's tough to know yet whether that represented urgency or convenience. We'll watch for more from the team on how long Bolton might be out.
Chiefs LB Willie Gay Jr. (lower back) is active for today's game against the Dolphins. He still shouldn't be in IDP lineups, though. Gay is averaging just 3.9 total tackles per game on the year with limited big plays. Drue Tranquill should be the only K.C. LB in consideration for your lineup. Gay has run a clear second even when Drue Tranquill has started in place of an injured Nick Bolton (as is the case now). Leo Chenal should be Gay's fill-in if he goes inactive in Germany.
