The Chargers have agreed to a two-year, $13.25 million deal with LB Eric Kendricks, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. The Vikings released Kendricks earlier this offseason to free up cap space. His arrival to L.A. comes with last year's lead LB, Drue Tranquill, still on the open market. So Kendricks looks like the best bet to lead the LB corps in 2023 playing time. There's still room for Tranquill to come back and play a significant role. If he doesn't and the Chargers don't make any other significant additions at off-ball LB, then Kenneth Murray could get one final starting shot in the fourth year of his rookie contract. We'd be quite surprised if L.A. picks up the fifth-year option on the highly disappointing former first-round pick. Expect Kendricks to land inside the top 30 when our 2023 IDP rankings drop.

Chargers LB Drue Tranquill (illness) and S Nasir Adderley (thumb) are active for today's game against the Raiders.

Chargers LB Drue Tranquill (back) is active for today's game against the Raiders. He remains a low-end IDP option, though.

The Chargers list LB Drue Tranquill as questionable for Sunday's game against the Raiders. He turned up on the injury report after hurting his back Friday, which doesn't bode well for his outlook in the opener. Tranquill is listed as a ILB starter on the team's "unofficial" depth chart, next to Kyle Van Noy. His absence would leave room for either Kenneth Murray or Troy Reeder, but we wouldn't plan on using either in Week 1 IDP lineups.

Chargers LB Drue Tranquill has landed on the COVID list and will miss Sunday's game against the Vikings. His place in the lineup will be taken by Kenneth Murray, who returns from IR. Murray missed the past 5 games with an ankle injury. The Los Angeles Times reports that Murray is expected to be activated Saturday.

Chargers LB Drue Tranquill (chest) is active or today's game against the Patriots.

Chargers LB Drue Tranquill (chest) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Patriots. We'll check his status Sunday afternoon, but Tranquill isn't a high-level IDP option even if active. S Nasir Adderley is good to go after missing the last game with a hip injury. He practiced in full all week and didn't appear on the final injury report.

The Chargers have ruled LB Drue Tranquill out for Sunday's game at Baltimore with a chest injury. S Nasir Adderley is questionable with a hip injury. We'll update his status Sunday morning. Tranquill's absence should make Kyzir White a good bet to lead Chargers LBs in playing time and tackles.

Chargers LB Drue Tranquill left in the 1st quarter of Sunday's game against the Bengals with an ankle injury. He was carted off with an air cast on the injured ankle, which points to a pretty serious injury. We'll watch for updates on his outlook.

Update: ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that "early indications" point to an ankle fracture for Tranquill.

Chargers S Derwin James is active for today's game against the Broncos, and the team says he'll start in place of Roderic Teamer. HC Anthony Lynn also said they'd monitor James' playing time, so it's tough to know just how much he'll be on the field. But James is ready if you waited for him in your IDP lineup. The Chargers also announced that rookie LB Drue Tranquill will start in place of Denzel Perryman. Make the switch if you were planning to start Perryman in your fantasy football lineup.

Chargers S Roderic Teamer (groin) is active for tonight's game against the Chiefs. He should return to the starting lineup and be in play for IDP use. Rookie LB Drue Tranquill is inactive. He turned up questionable after a Saturday calf injury in practice. That's just as well, because LB Denzel Perryman is no longer on the injury report. That should mean Perryman returning to his starting job against Kansas City. Thomas Davis remains the only solid fantasy bet at LB among Chargers.

Chargers S Roderic Teamer is questionable for Monday night's game against the Chiefs. He put in full practices Friday and Saturday after missing the past 2 games with a groin injury, pointing to a likely return for the Mexico City game. The Chargers also designated S Adrian Phillips to return from IR this week, but we've seen no indication he has a chance at playing against Kansas City. Elsewhere on the L.A. defense, LB Denzel Perryman was off the final injury report, pointing to a return to the lineup for him. He was active last week but didn't play because of a knee injury. Rookie Drue Tranquill saw full playing time in Perryman's absence but should see that cut drastically against the Chiefs. Thomas Davis looks like the only relatively safe LB bet among Chargers.
