Cardinals RB Jeremiyah Love (ankle) is out for Sunday's game vs. the Rams. The team is getting him some much-needed rest for a left-ankle injury he's been battling for the past couple of weeks, but HC Mike LaFleur said Friday that the team is not considering placing Love on IR. His absence this weekend leaves Arizona's backfield to Tyler Allgeier and Zonovan Knight. Expect Allgeier to handle the vast majority of the work, but he gets just about the worst possible spot with the Cardinals 12.5-point road underdogs. Cardinals RB Jeremiyah Love (ankle) is not listed on the final Week 5 injury report. He practiced all week, including a full workout on Friday. Despite some troubling comments after last week’s game, it looks like Love is at least close to 100% for Sunday’s meeting with the Lions.

Cardinals HC Matt LaFleur said RB Jeremiyah Love injured the opposite ankle in Week 4 as the one he hurt this preseason. LaFleur called it a "tweak" and "a management type of thing." This certainly doesn't seem like a serious injury, but Love's comments after the game make it a bit more concerning.

Cardinals RB Jeremiyah Love suffered an apparent right leg injury late in the second quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Giants. He stayed in the game, and no injury was announced. But he carried just 5 times in the second half. Love spoke to the media afterward and said his workload was being managed. We'll see if he pops up on the injury report this week.

Cardinals HC Mike LaFleur admitted Wednesday that it's "too early to tell" whether RB James Conner will be available for Week 1. Conner continues to work back from last September's season-ending right ankle injury. He's "progressing well," LaFleur added.

LaFleur downplayed the injury after Thursday night's preseason opener, but he sounded less optimistic Saturday and even sidestepped questions about Love's availability for the season opener.

RB Jeremiyah Love got his first preseason action Thursday night in the Cardinals' second exhibition, and they worked him like a lead back against the Raiders. The third overall pick racked up 14 first-half touches: 11 carries for 58 yards (5.3 per rush) and 3 receptions for 14 yards on three targets. Love also came away from the game with a minor ankle injury, but it appears we don't need to worry about that.
