Cowboys WR Michael Gallup admits that he struggled last season returning from his January 2022 ACL tear. "I was thinking too much,” Gallup said. “My knee was feeling sore, and it was just different. Last year at this time, I couldn’t walk. It’s different now. I feel springy again. It just feels different.” Gallup posted career lows last year in yards per game (30.3), yards per catch (10.9), and yards per route (1.0). We're buying a bounce back for the 27-year-old this season. But he still sits outside the top 50 in the WR Rankings after the Cowboys added WR Brandin Cooks earlier this offseason.

Cowboys WR Ceedee Lamb led the team in targets (8), receptions (6) and yards (97) and caught 1 of Cooper Rush's 2 TD passes in Sunday's win over the Commanders. That marked a 29.6% share of Rush's total pass attempts. WR Noah Brown (6) was the only other Cowboy to see more than 3 targets. He caught 3 balls for 61 yards before leaving with a neck injury. WR Michael Gallup made his season debut -- coming off the ACL tear at the end of last year -- and posted a 2-24-1 line on 3 targets. TE Dalton Schultz played through the knee issue that cost him Week 3 and caught none of his 3 targets.

Cowboys WR Michael Gallup (knee) is not listed on the final injury report after a full week of practice. He's set to make his 2022 debut vs. Washington on Sunday. It's unclear if Gallup will play a full slate of snaps in his 1st game since the torn ACL, though, so we'd leave him on fantasy benches this week.

"It's certainly possible" that Cowboys WR Michael Gallup (knee) plays vs. the Giants next Monday night, EVP Stephen Jones said. Gallup took team reps in practice last week for the 1st time since last January's ACL tear and is clearly getting close to a return. Of course, he won't be a fantasy option out of the gate coming off a serious injury and with QB Cooper Rush under center. But Gallup is worth stashing as a potential asset over the 2nd half of the season.

Cowboys QB Dak Prescott is expected to miss 6-8 weeks with his thumb injury, ESPN's Todd Archer reports. Prescott is meeting with a hand specialist on Monday, but the expectation is that he'll need a pin and plate inserted to stabilize his fractured joint. The short end of that 6-8 week timetable would have Prescott back for Week 8. But Dallas has a Week 9 bye, so Week 10 might be the most likely return date for Dak. His absence is obviously a big blow to all of the Cowboys' skill-position players. Prescott is cuttable in fantasy leagues without an IR spot.

Cowboys HC Mike McCarthy said Tuesday that WR Michael Gallup is doing “really well” and has avoided any setbacks in his rehab from a torn ACL. Gallup suffered the injury in Week 17 of last season, but he’s had a relatively smooth recovery since then. Already out for Week 1, we're still not counting on the 26-year-old as an early-season fantasy contributor.

Cowboys WR Michael Gallup (knee) admitted that he won't be ready to play Week 1, calling it "not a reasonable possibility.” It's a rare honest injury assessment from a player -- but it's not a surprise. Gallup didn't undergo surgery on his ACL until early February, so the typical 9-month recovery timeline would have him back in early November. We'll see if he can beat that timeline, but we're expecting Gallup to open the season on reserve PUP and miss at least the first 4 games.

WR Michael Gallup is "recovering well" from his torn ACL, according to insider Doug Kyed, and the "current expectation" is that he'll be back to 100% by August. That'd be about 7 months after his injury -- a relatively quick recovery. We'll keep an eye on Gallup's progress this offseason. And we'll see where he signs when he hits the free-agent market next month.

Monday's MRI confirmed the torn ACL in Cowboys WR Michael Gallup's left knee. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport hears that it was a "clean" tear and that Gallup is expected to make a full recovery. Still, the timing of the injury means that Gallup isn't a lock to be ready for the start of the 2022 season. We'll track his rehab.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said after Sunday's loss to the Cardinals that WR Michael Gallup is believed to have a torn left ACL. He'll undergo an MRI on Monday to confirm that diagnosis. If it's a torn ACL, Gallup will miss Week 18 and the playoffs and hit free agency in March rehabbing a serious injury. We'll track his rehab and see where he ends up signing. Cedrick Wilson will replace Gallup as Dallas' #3 WR.

Cowboys WR Michael Gallup (calf) has been designated to return from IR. He's now eligible to practice, but we'll see if he's ready to play vs. the Vikings this weekend. Gallup is about 6.5 weeks removed from what was supposed to be a 3-5 week injury.

Cowboys WR Michael Gallup is expected to be sidelined 3-5 weeks with a calf strain, The Dallas Morning News' Michael Gehlken reports. Gallup figures to land on short-term IR. It's worth noting that Dallas has a Week 7 bye, so it's possible we don't see Gallup again until Week 8. He's not a must-hold in shallower fantasy leagues. WR Cedrick Wilson ran a route on 85% of Dallas' pass plays after Gallup exited Thursday night's opener and is worth a look on waiver wires. Gallup's absence, of course, will also free up targets for WRs Amari Cooper and CeeDee Lamb.

Cowboys WR Michael Gallup is officially questionable to return to Thursday night's game vs. the Bucs with a left ankle injury. The broadcast showed him on the sidelines but without a helmet. Cedrick Wilson replaced Gallup as Dallas' #3 WR.
