The Eagles and QB Jalen Hurts have agreed to a five-year contract extension, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. The deal reportedly includes $255 million in total money, with $179.304 million in guarantees -- plus an extra $15 million in incentives. The pact also comes with a no-trade clause, the first the team has ever given out, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. This obviously locks Hurts in as Philly's starter for the foreseeable future, which is good news for his spot in the dynasty rankings. This could also be a key move in the Lamar Jackson saga. Hurts' deal -- along with other recent second QB contracts -- seems to set the market.

Outside of two deep balls to WR DeVonta Smith, Eagles QB Jalen Hurts struggled to get much going through the air in Thursday night’s win over the Vikings. He finished with 193 yards, one TD, and one INT on 18-of-23 passing. But Hurts added 35 yards and two TDs on the ground to turn in a big fantasy day. Both of those scores came on the evidently unstoppable tush-push play from the Minnesota one-yard line. Philly’s passing game has yet to click through two weeks. But there’s too much talent for it not to get going soon. In the meantime, Hurts’ rushing production will buoy his fantasy value. There’s nothing scary on Hurts’ schedule until a Week 6 matchup vs. the Jets.

He's a safe bet for top-five production in 2023, with the upside to lead all QBs in fantasy points.
