Packers RB MarShawn Lloyd suffered an additional hamstring injury in recent days in an attempt to return to the field. Lloyd’s 21-day return window had been activated last week and he began practicing with the team. The additional setback for Lloyd could cost him the rest of the season, though the timeline for his return is currently uncertain.

Lloyd, a third round draft pick in 2024, already has a lengthy injury history and this will add to the second-year RBs injury list. He suffered a groin injury back in July then injured his hamstring in the preseason.
He already had a setback on December 3rd of the hamstring injury, but his practice window was still opened a little over a week later. Now, an additional aggravation of the injury calls into question the rest of his season.

This marks the fourth time Lloyd has suffered some type of hamstring issue in his two year career. He missed the first game of his rookie season due to a hamstring injury. This year, his hamstring injury cost him 14 games. Reaggrevating the injury twice doesn’t bode well for Lloyd’s NFL future.
With a promising profile entering the league, Lloyd had a chance to be a contributor for the Packers’ long term, but this injury calls into question if he will ever get the opportunity.
