        Tyrone Tracy Maintains Lead-Back Role

Very little went right for the Giants in Week 16, but RB Tyrone Tracy continued to lead New York's backfield in playing time and production. Tracy out-touched Devin Singletary 18-12 and accounted for 55.3% of the Giants' total yards in the team's 16-13 loss to the Vikings. Tracy also commanded a 35-21 lead over Singletary in snaps.

Since Mike Kafka took over as the Giants' interim HC in Week 11, Tracy has been utilized as New York's clear lead back.

From Weeks 11-15, Tracy held a 64% to 36% lead in snap share and a 54% to 39% lead over Singletary in rush share.

We saw similar splits in Week 17, with Tracy playing 62.5% of the team's snaps and tallying a 59.2% share of the backfield carries.

The only time that Singletary earned more snaps or touches than Tracy since Kafka replaced Brian Daboll was in Week 13. Tracy left that game with a stinger, but recovered during New York's Week 14 bye.

Kafka has been far more run-heavy than his predecessor. Part of that approach is undoubtedly to protect QB Jaxson Dart, who missed Weeks 11 and 12 with a concussion.

Dart was abysmal in Week 16 against a Minnesota defense that has not allowed a passing TD in their last six games. The Vikings held Dart to his worst passing (33) and rushing (7) yardage total since becoming New York's starter.

Tracy was the only positive for the Giants on Sunday. He'll be on the RB2/3 radar in Week 17 as the Giants host a Raiders' defense that has allowed the eighth-most fantasy points to RBs as of this writing.
