Remember Jonathon Brooks? The 46th overall pick of the 2024 NFL Draft has played just three games for the Panthers. He opened his rookie season rehabbing from a torn ACL suffered in college and then re-tore that ACL in his third game. Brooks missed the entire 2025 campaign. But he's "headed in a good direction" now, GM Dan Morgan said Tuesday.
What They're Saying
More from Morgan on Brooks' rehab: "Just seeing Jonathon around the facility every day, the way that he attacks his rehab, the way that he attacks the weight room, just always around the building with a smile on his face, he's been through so much adversity, and he's overcoming it, and he's looking great. He's running really well. I saw him out there running routes the other day. He looked great. So yeah, he's doing really good. I'm really proud of him and the way he's attacked this rehab process."
Fantasy Football Impact
Brooks was an exciting prospect coming out of Texas, averaging 114 rushing yards and 1.0 rushing TDs on 6.1 yards per carry, plus 2.5 catches and 29 receiving yards, across 10 games in 2023. And, despite all the lost time, he'll turn just 23 in July.
RB Chuba Hubbard is signed with the Panthers through 2028, but RB Rico Dowdle is set to hit free agency in March. There's certainly room for a healthy Brooks to carve out a meaningful role in this backfield.
He remains worth stashing dynasty leagues and should be kept in mind as a late-round flier in early 2026 best ball drafts.
