New Browns HC Todd Monken sounds excited about second-year TE Harold Fannin Jr., and for good reason. The third-round pick led Cleveland in targets, catches, receiving yards, and TD catches as a rookie. He looks like one of the team's few offensive bright spots at the moment. And Monken likens Fannin to a star TE he coached in college.
What They're Saying
Monken, via Zac Jackson of The Athletic: "He's a little like Brock Bowers in the fact that his body type is more of an 'H' and 'F,' run-after-catch more than length. ... So you love his athleticism, you like his ability to run after catch, his ball skills like Brock, very similar in that regard."
2026 Fantasy Football Impact
Monken spent three years as Georgia's OC between his last stint with the Browns and his three seasons in Baltimore. That turn included Bowers' first two college seasons. So Monken likely knows the former Bulldog as well as any coach.
Of course, he probably doesn't believe Fannin matches Bowers in either physical ability or statistical upside. Monken even said "a little like" Bowers. But that's enough to be positive.
Fannin hit the NFL as an intriguing yet polarizing prospect. Despite his huge final college season -- 117-1,555-10 receiving line -- many wondered if he'd be fast enough and/or big enough to produce in the pros.
Fannin immediately answered that, despite playing on a bad team with weak QBs and David Njoku as the TE incumbent.
Expect Fannin to hit 2026 as an offensive focal point.
You'll have to pay to get him (TE5 in best ball ADP), but our ADP Market Index says the value's good on the young Brown.
