The Jaguars selected Texas A&M TE Nate Boerkircher in Round 2 of the 2026 NFL Draft. Boerkircher spent four years at Nebraska with just 19 total catches before transferring in 2025. He started every game at Texas A&M and showed well as both a blocker and receiver. But the usage and efficiency raise concerns for fantasy. Among 27 Combine-invited TEs, he ranked 19th in aDOT (6.6), last in team receiving yardage share (7.9%), last in receiving yards per team pass attempt (0.69), and 26th in yards per route run (1.12). At 24 years old, he enters the league as an older prospect.

"Boerkircher will clearly be the No. 2 tight end in the offense, and he does make the Jaguars more dynamic at the position. But is is hard to imagine any scenario where this was proper value for the Jaguars at No. 56. Instead, it feels like they took a backup because all of their other targets got drafted during the massive run on defenders."
Boerkircher hits the NFL after a lowly 19-198-3 receiving line in 2025. He projects as the No. 2 TE in 2026 behind Brenton Strange.
The rookie is well off the redraft radar.
