Giants WR Malik Nabers underwent a second surgery on the knee he injured last September, The Athletic's Dan Duggan reports. The procedure took place "multiple weeks ago" and removed scar tissue that was causing stiffness, per Duggan. "This second surgery isn't expected to impact Nabers' recovery timeline. The team is still hoping the No. 1 WR will be ready for the opener," Duggan adds.
What They're Saying
Doctor of Physical Therapy Jeff Mueller on the impact of this second surgery: "It has likely hindered his progress/ramp up to date so far. Could cut it close to be active week 1, all depends on if he hits his milestones. PUP an option Wk1-4."
2026 Fantasy Football Impact
It's important to remember that Nabers had damage to his ACL and meniscus. His first surgery happened exactly one month after the injury, on October 28.
We've been skeptical all along that Nabers would be ready for Week 1, and this latest news doesn't have us feeling any more optimistic.
We'll look for further updates on Nabers' progress and track him closely when training camp opens in late July.
Rankings Movement
We're not altering our baseline projections for Nabers on this news. We still have him projected to miss Week 1, and then take a few more games to ramp up to full playing time.
But we are making a slight dock to his floor projection. Nabers lands 12th in the updated WR rankings.
Projected ADP Movement
We'll see if this news moves Nabers' ADP. He's been overvalued in early drafts, currently sitting 18th overall in Underdog ADP. That's 11 spots higher than we have him ranked.
