CJ Allen Headshot

Colts second-round LB CJ Allen is opening training camp on the physically unable to perform list. Allen reportedly suffered a calf injury in a recent workout that's not expected to keep him out long.

What They're Saying: Allen Should Start If Ready

James Boyd of The Athletic: "He recently tweaked his calf during a workout, a league source told The Athletic. It is not expected to be a long-term injury, the source said."

More from Boyd: "The former Georgia star drew rave reviews from Colts defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo during spring practice, and he's projected to be the team's starting middle linebacker."

2026 Fantasy Football Impact: Don't Worry About the Calf Yet

This doesn't seem like an injury that should jeopardize Allen's chances of hitting the regular season as a starter, but we'll watch to make sure it doesn't linger too long.

Allen ranks among the top 30 in our LB rankings on the assumption he holds down that MLB slot. Zaire Franklin generated three straight top-4 fantasy finishes among LBs before sliding to LB33 last season and then getting traded to the Packers.
