The Philly Voice's Jimmy Kempski writes: "Through five practices, [Dontayvion] Wicks pretty clearly looks like the second-best receiver in camp." Wicks has impressed with his route running, blocking, and even his hands, per Kempski. Rookie WR Makai Lemon, meanwhile, was quiet early in camp before being sidelined with a hamstring injury.
What They're Saying: Wicks Up, Lemon Down
Kempski on Wicks: "He runs good routes, he blocks his ass off, and so far his hands — an issue for him in Green Bay — have been reliable. The Eagles have to be very happy with what they have seen from him so far."
On Lemon: "Before he suffered his second hamstring injury, Lemon was quiet during the first three practices. He entered camp as the favorite to be the second-most targeted receiver, but he's not that anymore."
2026 Fantasy Football Impact: Wicks Could Have Early-Season Value
It's early August, so there's still plenty of time for this pecking order to change. But Lemon has missed a lot of time, both in the spring and now in training camp, with hamstring trouble. And Wicks is a talented player who flashed plenty in Green Bay.
We're still projecting Lemon to eventually emerge as Philadelphia's No. 2 WR this year, but he's not looking like a good bet to help fantasy teams early in the season.
Wicks, meanwhile, is a nice late-round target in best ball drafts and could even have some early-season utility in deep lineup-setting fantasy leagues.
