Eli Stowers Headshot

Eagles TE Eli Stowers continues to struggle in training camp, with The Philly Voice’s Geoff Mosher saying he’s still learning the position and struggling with the game’s physicality. The team drafted Stowers in the second round of the NFL Draft this past April as a potential heir apparent to TE Dallas Goedert. Stowers' receiving ability and athleticism could've gotten him on the field, but it appears he's too far behind to open the season as a contributor.

What They're Saying: He's Not Ready

Geoff Mosher, The Philly Voice: “Right now Eli Stowers is struggling with the physicality of the game. He’s still new to the position. He’s not ready to play in the NFL right now. I don’t think three more weeks of camp is going all of a sudden make him snap his fingers and he’s going to be ready to contribute.”

2026 Fantasy Football Impact: Patience Required Here

We have mentioned Eli Stowers early struggles in camp, but they have continued over the past month.

Stowers was a college QB who converted to TE for his final two seasons. Stowers showed great athleticism and hands, but his rawness as a TE, especially with blocking, appears to have transferred over to the NFL.

Mosher was fairly adamant about Stowers being far away from contributing and that he likely won’t come around in the next few weeks. This may be a slow burn for Stowers throughout the season as he learns the position from coaches before getting to see the field.

Stowers looks more like a dynasty investment than a redraft option right now.

We currently rank him TE38 in our PPR TE Rankings, which leaves him well off the redraft radar.
