The Athletic's Dan Duggan believes Giants WR Malachi Fields is making a push for the No. 2 WR job following his preseason debut on Saturday. Fields worked in with the first-team offense in that one, running a route on 4 of QB Jaxson Dart's 7 dropbacks. He caught all 3 of his targets for 34 yards, including a 15-yard TD from Dart.

2026 Fantasy Football Impact: Best Bet Behind Nabers
Fields faces a low bar to win that No. 2 WR job. Slayton, Mooney, and Austin have been no better than replacement-level talents throughout their careers.
As Duggan says, though, this projects as a run-heavy offense. And we're expecting WR Malik Nabers and TE Isaiah Likely to be the top two targets.
That leaves Fields short of exciting fantasy value. But if you're looking to take a flier on a Giants WR behind Nabers, he's your best bet.
