Emari Demercado Headshot

The Cowboys claimed former Chiefs RB Emari Demercado off waivers. He will join the team after they released both second-year RBs Jaydon Blue and Phil Mafah. He joins an RB room with only Javonte Williams and Malik Davis. Demercado could stick as the No. 3 RB on the team.

What They're Saying: Dallas Adds Needed Depth

2026 Fantasy Football Impact: Davis Still Has Carry Edge

Demercado was a somewhat surprising Chiefs cut, but he lands on a depth chart that lacked a third option.

Demercado spent three years on the Cardinals totaling 126 carries for 819 yards and 3 TDs on the ground over that time. Most of his value came as a receiver, where Demercado totaled 50 catches for 324 yards and a TD.

If Williams misses time, Davis could handle most of the carries, with Demercado working in the receiving role.

That doesn’t make Demercado worth a roster spot in any league type, but he is worth keeping an eye on.
