In DK Metcalf’s first season with the Steelers, he’s coming off his lowest PPR points-per-game season since his rookie year, at 12.5. His 20.4% target share is also the lowest he’s accounted for since his rookie season.
And this wasn’t new. Those same concerns were already there the year before in Seattle.
His production and efficiency have trended downward, with his PPG, target share, and yards per team pass attempt all decreasing in each of the past three seasons.
Metcalf is entering his second season with both the team and Rodgers, so it’s reasonable to expect improvement from the still-28-year-old.
Still, being this offense’s ‘number one’ doesn’t guarantee a high-end fantasy finish.
