Sam Darnold Headshot

Seahawks QB Sam Darnold injured his hip at the end of his first drive in last night’s game against the New England Patriots, but HC Mike Macdonald said the team got “really, really good news” on the injury. Darnold is still expected to miss next week’s game against the Cardinals, though it sounds like he’ll be back sooner than expected.

What They're Saying: Really Good News

This is obviously good news for Darnold, who appears set to potentially return as early as Week 3.

It also is positive for the rest of the Seahawks skill position players, including WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Though JSN did perform well last night (8-122-1 on 11 targets) with Drew Lock at the helm, Darnold should be a more consistent presence.
