This was a brutal watch.
Rainy, sloppy conditions helped limit the Bears to only 3 points. Caleb Williams suffered a hamstring injury, although it came late in the game.
Loveland remained close to a full-time player. His 64 snaps led Bears skill-position players, while his 29 routes ranked a close fourth behind Rome Odunze (38), Kalif Raymond (32), and Luther Burden (30). Loveland also had one catch wiped out by penalty and another target batted down at the line. More frustratingly, rookie TE Sam Roush drew 3 targets on just 6 routes, though he dropped two of them.
We’ll see how much time Williams misses, but try to avoid selling low on Loveland after two games. Beyond the sloppy conditions, the Bears faced a uniquely aggressive defense from DC Brian Flores, who blitzed at a 77.5% rate. Bears QBs faced pressure on half of their collective dropbacks.
Loveland will look to bounce back against an Eagles defense that has done well to limit TE production under DC Vic Fangio.
