Jonathon Brooks Headshot

The Panthers consider RB Jonathon Brooks "week-to-week while he gets second opinions on his groin injury," according to Tom Pelissero of The Ringer. Brooks suffered the initial injury in training camp and aggravated it in Sunday's win over the Falcons.

2026 Fantasy Football Impact: Hubbard Gets Easier to Use

Getting "second opinions" certainly doesn't sound good. We'll watch for further details of Brooks' return timeline before speculating, but don't expect him to be an option for your fantasy lineup soon.

Chuba Hubbard, meanwhile, looks poised to take over the backfield. He tallied just 10 and 12 carries in the team's first two games, the latter a lopsided win at Atlanta.

That workload should climb significantly, and there's upside to matchups with Cleveland and Detroit the next two weeks.

Carolina gets a Week 5 bye, which could factor into Brooks' timeline. We'll pass along more info when we get it.

Expect to find Hubbard among the top 20 in our RB rankings at least the next two weeks.
