Commanders WR Terry McLaurin delivered a 6-77-1 receiving line on 9 targets in Sunday's win over the Seahawks. He led the team in each of those categories and rebounded from a 30.8% catch rate through the first two weeks. McLaurin remained the Washington leader in pass routes, though WR Stefon Diggs caught up in Week 3. He ran 27 to McLaurin's 31, after trailing his teammate by 11 routes in Week 2 and 10 routes in the opener. Diggs caught four of 7 targets for 33 yards against Seattle.
2026 Fantasy Football Impact: Mariota Certainly Doesn't Hurt
McLaurin made a nice adjustment for the 30-yard TD reception in the third quarter.
His performance follows other positive results with backup QB Marcus Mariota.
McLaurin averaged 15.8 PPR points per game across Mariota's seven full starts in place of Jayden Daniels last season. That would have ranked 10th at the position for the season.
McLaurin also drew 31.2% of Mariota's pass attempts in the second half of the Week 2 loss at Dallas, vs. 18.8% for Diggs.
That's not enough to say that McLaurin's better off with Mariota on the field instead of Daniels. But it's enough to make McLaurin playable the rest of the time that Daniels misses.
Weeks 4 and 5 hold more attractive matchups with the Colts and Giants, before a visit to the 49ers. Expect to find McLaurin comfortably inside our top 30 WRs each of those weeks.
What About Diggs?
Diggs was bound for some TD regression after scoring on 33.3% of his catches through the first two weeks. But his improved proximity to McLaurin in route rate Sunday is a positive.
No other Washington player ran more than 19 routes. His 77.1% route rate, meanwhile, marked a season high -- up from 65.8% in Week 1 and 56.1% in Week 2.
We'll see whether that becomes a trend or if Week 3 reveals itself as an outlier.
Either way, soft defenses the next two weeks help to keep Diggs in play for fantasy lineups.
