Commanders RB Rachaad White notched the backfield's only TD in Sunday's win over the Seahawks, taking a reception in from 6 yards out in the first quarter. That marked his only target for the game, and White added a mere 35 rushing yards on 8 carries. He left briefly with a shoulder injury but returned. RB Jacory Croskey-Merritt, meanwhile, logged 18 carries and 1 catch (on 1 target), while beating White 39-30 in total snaps and 17-14 in pass routes.

Croskey-Merritt managed just 36 yards on the ground (1.9 per rush).
It's also worrisome to see White get the score from inside the 10. But Croskey-Merritt carried for 3 yards on first-and-9 before White's score on second down. So Washington didn't necessarily pull JCM for another option near the goal line.
Of course, the fact that White did get the call on second-and-goal from the 6 also means that Croskey-Merritt doesn't qualify as "the" goal-line back.
Croskey-Merritt's backfield lead makes him a decent option anywhere in the RB24-30 range for a Week 4 home date with the Colts. If he works out there, a Week 5 visit from the Giants also doesn't look scary.
We'll see about White's playing time and usage before calling him a startable fantasy asset.
