The production that Jaxon Smith-Njigba just continues to deliver is so absurd that it doesn't even feel newsworthy. He contributed another 10 catches for 128 yards and 2 TDs in Sunday's loss to the Commanders. That makes three straight games of 8+ catches, 122+ yards, and 1+ TDs to open the season. He had four such games all last season.
Leave Some for Others, Man
Through three weeks, JSN leads the NFL in targets, catches, and receiving yards, earning these market shares among Seahawks:
- 37.9% of targets
- 40.3% of catches
- 51.5% of yards
- 75.0% of TDs
He's averaging 12 targets per game this season after slumming it at 9.6 targets per game amid last year's breakout.
The only real change vs. last year, though, might be this Seattle team throwing a bit more.
The Seahawks sit 23rd in the league with a 51.1% pass rate in neutral situations so far. That's up slightly from last year's 49.0% (26th), and there's room for further uptick with Darnold back. Seattle had to roll Drew Lock out there for about one and three-quarters of the first two games.
The struggling running game could factor into that pass-run split as well.
2026 Fantasy Football Impact: Duh
There's not much to say about Smith-Njigba other than that he's awesome and will remain one of fantasy's easiest auto-starts for as long as he's healthy.
The only question will be whether Darnold's return can help WR Rashid Shaheed or any other pass-catching option get going as well.
