For the third straight week to open the season, the Rams had a different scoring leader at TE. Davis Allen led the room in Week 1, Terrance Ferguson did it in Week 2, and Tyler Higbee took over in Week 3. Higbee hauled in eight of 11 targets for 62 yards and a TD, good for a TE1 finish in Week 3.

Terrance Ferguson led the Rams TE’s in route participation last week, being on the field for 70.6% of the team’s dropbacks. But that number dropped dramatically to just 15.6% in Week 3 with the second-year TE dealing with an ankle injury.
That led to Higbee’s route participation jumping from 11.8% in Week 2 to 75.0% in Week 3, on his way to producing 20.2 PPR points.
Ferguson isn’t expected to miss time with an ankle injury, so Higbee’s outlook looks more like his limited opportunity from the first two weeks of the season than his most recent outburst.
If Ferugson is to miss time at any point, Higbee is instantly boosted as a high-opportunity TE in one of the league’s highest-producing passing offenses.
