Jacory Croskey-Merritt Headshot

Commanders RB Jacory Croskey-Merritt ran 9 times for just 15 yards (1.7 yards per carry) in Sunday's 30-13 loss to the Colts. His longest run went only 6 yards. He salvaged some value as a receiver, catching 2 of 4 targets for 35 yards, including a 35-yard gain. That added up to 50 scrimmage yards and 7.0 PPR points. Austin Ekeler (4-29 rushing, 1-11 receiving) was more efficient on fewer touches.

2026 Fantasy Football Impact: The Script Didn't Help

Croskey-Merritt entered Week 4 with 47 carries for 142 yards, so this was a clear efficiency step back. The matchup made the dud worse. Indianapolis entered allowing the 7th-most schedule-adjusted RB points (24.84 per game) and ranked 30th in run defense DVOA (5.9%). Washington trailed most of the day, which didn’t favor Croskey-Merritt. Ekeler's 7.3 yards per carry might earn him more work.

Daniels' expected return should help the offense stay on schedule. Next up are the Giants, who rank 14th in adjusted RB points allowed (21.77 per game) and 10th in run defense DVOA. The 49ers follow, allowing the 9th-most RB points (24.14) despite a top-8 run defense DVOA. After the bye, the Eagles are a tougher spot (24th, 17.82 per game). Croskey-Merritt sits as an RB3/flex option who needs better game script to pay off.
