Jonathan Taylor Headshot

Colts RB Jonathan Taylor ran 15 times for 45 yards (3.0 yards per carry) in Sunday’s 34-22 loss to the Steelers. His longest run went for 20 yards, so he managed just 25 yards on his other 14 carries. He added 3 catches for 37 yards on 4 targets, with a long of 24. That came out to 11.2 PPR points. Rookie RB Seth McGowan ran 5 times for 16 yards and played over 25% of the snaps for the second straight week.

2026 Fantasy Football Impact: Watch the Snap Trend

This was a clear step down from Taylor’s first four games. He entered with 86 carries for 353 yards (4.1 per carry) and 6 TDs, averaging 88.3 rushing yards per game. Sunday’s 15 carries fell well below his 21.5 per game average, and he was held out of the end zone. The bigger concern is McGowan. Taylor still leads all RBs in snap rate through five weeks, but he doesn’t rank among the top 10 over the last two. DJ Giddens was also active for the first time this season, giving Indianapolis three healthy backs. Game script didn’t help, as the Colts trailed and Daniel Jones threw 44 times. Pittsburgh entered allowing the 9th-most PPR points to RBs (24.6 per game) but ranked 9th in our run defense power rankings.

The Colts host the Titans in Week 6, then visit the Vikings and Jaguars. Tennessee is the best spot, ranking 17th in PPR points allowed to RBs (21.6 per game) and 13th in our run defense power rankings. Minnesota allows the fewest RB points in the league (11.5) and ranks 3rd in our run defense power rankings. Jacksonville ranks 23rd (19.0) and 4th in our run defense power rankings. Taylor remains an RB1 thanks to his talent and TD ability, but the Vikings and Jaguars games call for lower expectations over the next few weeks.
