Cardinals RB Zonovan Knight led the backfield with 80 rushing yards against the Rams. His 15 carries came in three behind Tyler Allgeier’s count, while Allgeier lagged well behind in yards per carry (2.1 to 5.3). Both backs saw increased usage with Jeremiyah Love (ankle) inactive.

Knight toughed this one out, as he played through “full body cramps,” per team reporter Darren Urban. Still, the veteran was one of the biggest Week 6 surprises across all positions.
Among 35 qualifiers, per Next Gen Stats, Knight ranked second in rush yards over expected per attempt (+2.2), fourth in yards per carry (5.3), and sixth in yards after contact per attempt (4.0).
Still, Urban describes Knight’s role as “week to week” and tied to Love’s health. He also expects Knight to “go back to being a third back” once Love returns (which could be as soon as Week 7).
So don’t count on a lasting role. But if you need short-term RB help, Knight is worth adding given the possibility that Love misses more time. He gets a neutral matchup vs. Denver this week before a much better draw with Dallas in Week 8.
