Mayfield went 0 for 3 passing in Tampa Bay’s 16-0 win over Atlanta and finished as the QB25. He added 4 carries for 14 yards. The weather shut down both passing games, and the Bucs became the first team since the 1974 Bills to win without completing a pass. This should be thrown out when evaluating Mayfield going forward.
2026 Fantasy Football Impact
Tampa Bay ran 56 times and called just 6 routes all game. Chris Godwin played 49 snaps but ran only 6 routes, while Cade Otton (57 snaps), Payne Durham (42) and Bauer Sharp (19) kept the Bucs in heavy TE sets. Mayfield fumbled three times but recovered all three himself, and he was sacked once. The defense carried the day with 4 INTs, including 2 by Alex Anzalone.
Mayfield returned from his thumb injury in Week 7 after missing three straight games. He completed 7 of 11 passes for 64 yards and a TD as the QB23. That leaves him without a meaningful passing sample since coming back.
Chicago allows the 10th-most fantasy points to QBs in Week 9 and ranked 21st in our pass defense power rankings heading into Week 8 (7.5 pass DVOA). After the Week 10 bye, Detroit allows the most points to QBs and ranked 16th in pass defense power. Mayfield is a QB2 against Chicago with QB1 upside against the Lions.
