Patriots QB Drake Maye made the most of limited passing volume in Sunday’s win over Miami, completing 16 of 20 attempts for 199 yards and 2 TDs. He also found the end zone as a runner for the third time in his past four outings.
2026 Fantasy Football Impact: Maye Stays Hot
Beyond the low volume, Maye had to overcome a depleted supporting cast. The Pats played this one without TreVeyon Henderson, A.J. Brown, Romeo Doubs, and Mack Hollins.
But it didn’t matter much with the way Maye played, especially factoring in the O-line. Per NFL Pro, Maye recorded a huge 3.50-second average time to throw, easily the highest of Week 8. He also posted the week’s fourth-best completion rate over expected (+8.4%).
His TDs went to Kyle Williams and DeMario Douglas. He first hit Williams on a perfect deep ball. Later, he broke the pocket to find Douglas along the sideline, who did most of the work on a 48-yard catch-and-run.
Maye has now finished as a top-8 fantasy QB in five straight outings. He’ll look to continue rolling in a negative Week 9 matchup vs. Green Bay. After that comes a much friendlier draw at Detroit.
