The Cowboys are re-signing DE Demarcus Lawrence to a 3-year, $40 million deal with $30 million guaranteed, according to multiple reports. Many expected Lawrence to move on, given Dallas' salary-cap issues. But the 8-year veteran heads into his age-30 campaign looking like he might finish his career a Cowboy. Lawrence lost 10 games to a foot fracture in 2021 and logged just 3 in the other 7. We'd bet on a 2022 rebound, but it's worth noting that Lawrence also tallied just 10 QB hits in 2020 -- his fewest in a season since becoming a starter. So he's probably not a great bet for double-digit sacks.

The Cowboys have designated DE Demarcus Lawrence to return from IR, and Jon Machota of The Athletic reports that he's expected to play Thursday night against the Saints. Lawrence has been out fracturing his left foot in practice leading up to Week 2. We'd hold him out of IDP lineups until seeing at least a game back from the veteran. The Cowboys will not get DE Randy Gregory back for Thursday night's game. He's on IR with a calf injury. We'll see about his Week 14 chances.

Cowboys DE Demarcus Lawrence broke the 5th metatarsal in his foot in Wednesday's practice, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. That's the famed "Jones fracture." He'll need surgery but reportedly could make it back onto the field in November. We'll keep an eye on Lawrence's progress. At this point, though, he is droppable in nearly all redraft IDP leagues. Tarell Basham looks like the next man up in Lawrence's spot. With DE Randy Gregory also out with COVID right now, Dorance Armstrong figures to start opposite Basham this Sunday against the Chargers.

Cowboys DE Demarcus Lawrence left Wednesday's practice with a foot injury. "The severity is not yet clear," according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. We'll keep an eye out for more, but approach waivers tonight as though you won't have Lawrence in Week 2. Dallas was already likely to miss DE Randy Gregory for Sunday's game against the Chargers after he tested positive for COVID.

The Cowboys on Tuesday activated DE Demarcus Lawrence from the PUP list, after he passed his physical. Lawrence had offseason surgery to repair a herniated disc in his back, which he said caused him some leg issues last season. “I feel like I’m in Phase 3 of the rehab out of four phases,” Lawrence told The Athletic. “I feel like I’m progressing real well. It’s all about getting the legs back and attacking and working myself in with the boys.” We'd rather have Lawrence be in Phase 4 by this point, but there's still time for him to round into shape. We'll see about reports on Lawrence's readiness as the season draws closer. There's a chance he plays healthier this season than last, which would obviously be good for his production.

Cowboys DE Demarcus Lawrence (illness) is active for today's game against the Vikings. Use him as planned in your IDP lineups.

Cowboys DE Demarcus Lawrence is questionable for Sunday's game against the Vikings. He didn't practice Thursday and then turned up as a non-participant Friday, though the team didn't actually practice. Lawrence reportedly still hopes to play. We'll check his status Sunday afternoon.

Cowboys DE DeMarcus Lawrence (knee) is active for today’s game against the Seahawks. He saw his playing time limited last week by injury, though, and then saw limited practice participation this week. Try to avoid using Lawrence in IDP lineups if you can help it.

Cowboys DE Demarcus Lawrence is questionable for Sunday's game against the Seahawks. He missed the 1st 2 practices of the week with a knee injury that limited his Week 2 playing time. Dallas estimated him at a limited participation level for Friday's walkthrough. Keep Lawrence out of your Week 3 IDP lineups if you can. DE Everson Griffen figures to see extra playing time.

Cowboys DE Demarcus Lawrence barely played in the 2nd half of Sunday's win over the Falcons because of a knee injury. HC Mike McCarthy said Monday they "were just keeping an eye on" Lawrence's knee in the 2nd half after he hurt it in the 1st, according to Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News. The coach said they should know more about Lawrence's status for Week 3 once the practice week begins Wednesday. Lawrence's downtime produced more snaps for DE Everson Griffen. Aldon Smith led the edge group in playing time for the 2nd straight game.

The Cowboys on Tuesday activated DE DeMarcus Lawrence from the PUP. He had missed all of training camp after April surgery for a torn labrum in his left shoulder. The joint had reportedly bothered him for 2 seasons. We'll keep an eye on reports of his progress, but Lawrence returning a couple of weeks before the start of the season is a good sign that the star pass rusher will be able to help the Dallas defense and our IDP lineups.

The Cowboys are placing the franchise tag on DE Demarcus Lawrence for the 2nd straight year. Although it'd obviously be nice for the player to secure his longer-term status, IDP owners can continue expecting the high-level production we've gotten from Lawrence the past 2 years.

Cowboys DE Demarcus Lawrence (shoulder) and CB Chidobe Awuzie (ankle) are active for today's game against the Jaguars. They're OK to use as planned in IDP lineups.

Cowboys DE Demarcus Lawrence (shoulder) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Jaguars. He missed Wednesday's practice before limited workouts the next 2 days. DT David Irving, on the other hand, put in full practices Thursday and Friday after missing last week's game while dealing with a family issue and spending the 1st 4 weeks on a league suspension. He's expected to play 10-15 snaps against Jacksonville, according to Cowboys Wire. That's not enough to make Irving usable in IDP leagues, but it's his 1st real step toward getting back to IDP relevance.

Cowboys LB Sean Lee (knee) and S Barry Church (forearm) are questionable for Sunday night's game against the Buccaneers. Church has been playing through the issue since his return to the lineup, though. And Lee's not a good bet to sit out unless he absolutely needs to. Dallas has already ruled DE Demarcus Lawrence (back) out for the game.

Cowboys DE Demarcus Lawrence (back) is questionable for Sunday night's game against the Giants, but the team expects him to play, according to Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Lawrence actually sat out the past 2 days of practice after a limited workout Wednesday. He has been playing through the issue despite "questionable" tags but has just 1 sack on the year. Lawrence makes for a weak IDP option this week.
