The Falcons on Monday traded LB Duke Riley and a 6th-round pick to the Eagles for S Johnathan Cyprien and a 7th-rounder. The move looks like an attempt by Atlanta to get a replacement for SS Keanu Neal, who suffered a torn Achilles' tendon in Week 3. Kemal Ishmael started in his place against the Titans. We'll see if Ishmael's still in the lineup for Week 5. Riley, meanwhile, joins a crowd at LB for the Eagles. He'll have some climbing to do before he's relevant.

The Titans have agreed to a 4-year extension with S Kenny Vaccaro and made official the release of S Johnathan Cyprien. Vaccaro didn't put up special fantasy numbers with Tennessee last season, but he's capable of spot-starter production for fantasy football.

The Titans announced Thursday that S Johnathan Cyprien will miss the 2018 season after tearing his left ACL in Wednesday's practice. Fortunately for Tennessee, the free-agent market remains oddly robust with safeties. Big names available include former 49er Eric Reid and former Saint Kenny Vaccaro. We'll see if the Titans add something. Cyprien disappointed IDP owners a year ago, in part because he lost 6 games to a hamstring injury.

Titans S Johnathan Cyprien missed practice Wednesday and Thursday, despite playing 97% of the snaps in Sunday's loss to the Cardinals. The injury report on the team website lists "hamstring," but The Tennessean reports that he's dealing with a lower-back issue. The hamstring would be more worrisome, given that it cost him 6 games in the 1st half of the season. Either way, we'll keep an eye on his status heading into the weekend.

Titans S Johnathan Cyprien suffered a hamstring strain in the 4th quarter of Sunday's loss to the Raiders and will miss "a few weeks," HC Mike Mularkey said at his Monday press conference. Da'Norris Searcy is expected to step into the lineup for Cyprien. He started most of last season but was not much of an IDP option.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that former Jaguars S Jonathan Cyprien has reached a deal with the Titans. Cyprien heads to a defense that supplied little fantasy football production from safeties in recent seasons. DC Dick LeBeau's system also didn't tend to produce big tackle numbers from the safeties. That category has driven Cyprien's IDP value to date, so it's tough to like his outlook. Unless his ADP falls, we'd bet on Cyprien being overrated in 2017 drafts.

The Jaguars expect S Jonathan Cyprien to miss the rest of the preseason with a non-displaced fracture of his right index finger. Per ESPN.com, HC Gus Bradley said Cyprien should be able to return for Week 1 even if his finger isn't completely healed, because he could play in a cast. Cyprien continues to carry significant IDP upside, though keeping his hand out of a cast would certainly help his INT potential. Cyprien said his 2 years in the system will help him deal with the time away. "One good thing is that I'll also still be in practice," he said. "I'll make sure I get all the [noncontact] reps I can, and I'll still be familiar with it. I definitely have those years under my belt, and I understand what's going on out there."

Jaguars S Johnathan Cyprien has been cleared to return this week after missing the Week 2 loss at Washington with a concussion.  Cyprien suffered the injury late in the 2nd quarter of the Week 1 loss at Philly, forcing him out of the game with an empty stat line. Replacement Josh Evans racked up 14 tackles (8 solo) against Washington, showing the upside in playing at the back of a bad defense linked to an offense that can't move the ball.  A healthy Cyprien remains a top DB option for IDP owners going forward.

Jaguars S Johnathan Cyprien missed his 3rd straight day of practice Friday because of the concussion he suffered against the Eagles in Week 1. The Florida Times-Union calls him a "longshot" to play Sunday against Washington. Josh Evans and Chris Prosinski each had a hand in filling in after Cyprien left last Sunday, which makes neither worth chasing in your IDP league.

Update: Cyprien has officially been ruled out for Week 2.

The Jaguars have confirmed that S Johnathan Cyprien suffered a concussion in Sunday's loss to the Eagles and is now working his way through the league protocol.  We'll see whether he can progress quickly enough to make it back for Week 2.  Despite his empty 1st half against a struggling Philly offense in Week 1, Cyprien remains a high-ceiling IDP option the rest of the way.

The Jaguars have ruled S Johnathan Cyprien out for the rest of the opener vs. the Eagles with a head injury.  Cyprien left after slamming his head to the ground falling backward while breaking up a deep throw to Philly WR Jeremy Maclin.  The team didn't announce it as a concussion, but it's hard to imagine this not being one.  Expect Cyprien to need to go through the league concussion protocol before playing in Week 2.

Jacksonville teammates and decision makers have heaped praise on 2nd-year Jaguars S Johnathan Cypriend.  “You look at him and he’s the type of kid that he can be the best in the NFL,” LB Paul Posluszny told The Associated Press this week. “He has that type of talent and that type of ability and he wants to do things the right way.
