Raiders RB Josh Jacobs finished Week 3 with 9 carries for -2 yards. Per Elias Sports, it's the first time since the merger a reigning rushing champ finished a game with negative rushing yards. His fantasy points turned out OK thanks to a 5-51 receiving line, aided by a big Raiders deficit. Ultimately, a Bills blowout win was always a real possibility. Jacobs should bounce back next Sunday night against a Pittsburgh squad minus DL Cam Heyward.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs did not have a big fantasy day in the Week 1 win over Denver, totaling 71 scoreless yards. But he remained a workhorse, despite re-joining the team just about two weeks ago. Jacobs handled 19 of Vegas' 20 RB carries and three of the five RB targets. His 88% share of his team's backfield opportunities (carries + targets) is the second highest on the week through the Sunday afternoon games. If this type of usage holds -- and we think it will -- Jacobs will have no problem scoring as a RB1. Week 2 brings a tough spot in Buffalo, but Jacobs' volume should keep him in fantasy lineups.

The Raiders and RB Josh Jacobs have agreed to a one-year deal worth up to $12 million, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. It's the same thing RB Saquon Barkley got from the Giants. Each RB was limited in what he could get once the July deadline passed for franchise-tagged players to sign long-term contracts. This new pact brings Jacobs back with still more than two weeks before the regular-season opener. We'll see how quickly Jacobs' ADP rebounds. He has commonly been going in Round 3 of recent drafts. He's certainly a nice value in that range and can make sense anywhere from the second half of Round 2 on -- depending on your format. Jacobs never moved much in our fantasy football rankings this summer.

Raiders QB Jimmy Garoppolo "was up-and-down early in camp but has been impressive of late," ESPN's Paul Gutierrez writes. Garoppolo also looked good in his 2023 preseason debut on Saturday night, completing all four of his passes for 39 yards on a 68-yard TD drive. He's still not an exciting fantasy option, but the improved play is good news for Vegas pass-catchers.

Raiders RBs Zamir White and Ameer Abdullah have been splitting first-team work with RB Josh Jacobs still holding out, according to The Athletic's Tashan Reed. White has been handling "most of the carries," with Abdullah playing in passing situations. That's how we'd expect this backfield to operate if Jacobs misses regular-season games. White's ADP has remained in check, making him an intriguing bench stash as we continue to monitor the Jacobs holdout.

Insider Josina Anderson reports that the Raiders are "open to restarting talks with RB Josh Jacobs, with the hopes of getting him to rejoin the team, which still remains the goal for the organization." RB Saquon Barkley's one-year deal with the Giants should help lay some groundwork for an agreement between Jacobs and the Raiders. We're still not projecting him to sit out any regular-season games.

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero confirms that Raiders RB Josh Jacobs will not report for the start of training camp Tuesday. Jacobs was spotted boarding a flight to leave Las Vegas on Monday morning and "has told people close to him that he doesn’t plan to return anytime soon," per Pelissero. Jacobs hasn't yet signed his franchise-tag tender, so he doesn't lose any money for skipping camp. But he'd forfeit close to $600,000 for each regular-season game he sits out. We're ultimately expecting Jacobs to report before Week 1 but will continue to keep a close eye on the situation.

"The Raiders are not expected to see [RB Josh] Jacobs until later this summer, if then," ESPN's Adam Schefter tweeted on Monday. Jacobs and the Raiders failed to agree to a long-term contract ahead of Monday's 4 pm ET deadline for franchise-tagged players. Since he hasn't signed the franchise tag yet, Jacobs can't be fined for skipping training camp. "Jacobs will have decisions to make as to when he is willing to report," Schefter adds. NFL Network's Tom Pelissero suggested back in June that Jacobs' holdout could extend into the regular season. We'll continue to keep you updated on the situation, but Jacobs clearly carries elevated risk in upcoming fantasy football drafts.

Raiders beat writer Vincent Bonsignore doesn’t expect the team to extend RB Josh Jacobs prior to Monday’s deadline. Jacobs hasn’t signed his franchise tag, so he’s not subject to fines if he skips training camp. Bonsignore expects Jacobs to show up for the regular season and calls a trade “unlikely.” The 25-year-old finished at RB3 last year, boosted by a massive 393 touches. He'll remain an RB1 when active, but second-year man Zamir White brings plenty of intrigue as a late-round handcuff. Get White starred on your cheat sheet.

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero suggested in a recent interview on The Rich Eisen Show that Raiders RB Josh Jacobs could hold out into the regular season. "If there’s not a long-term deal I don’t anticipate Jacobs being there at the start of training camp and I don’t know that he shows up Week 1," Pelissero said. Jacobs was slapped with the franchise tag earlier this offseason, which would pay him $10.1 million this year. Skipping training camp wouldn't cost him any money, but he'd forfeit one-seventeenth of that salary for each game he misses. Jacobs and the Raiders have until July 17 to agree to a long-term deal. Until we have a resolution to this situation, Jacobs carries elevated risk in fantasy drafts. RB Zamir White would be the favorite to take over early-down work if Jacobs holds out into the regular season. RB Ameer Abdullah is still around to handle passing downs.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs won't report for the start of the team's voluntary offseason program on Monday, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports. Jacobs has yet to sign his franchise tender, ultimately hoping for a longer-term deal. He's unlikely to get it, but at this point we don't expect a holdout into the summer. We'll keep an eye on the situation. Giants RB Saquon Barkley and Jaguars TE Evan Engram are also skipping voluntary workouts after getting franchise-tagged earlier this offseason.

The Raiders plan to use the franchise tag on RB Josh Jacobs, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. The tag deadline is Tuesday, so there's still time for a longer-term deal before the tag is applied. Using the tag would give a mid-July deadline for a longer-term pact. The Raiders, of course, declined the fifth-year option on Jacobs' rookie contract before 2022 ... and then handed him the largest workload of his career and watched him lead the NFL in rushing. If he plays on the franchise tag, Jacobs will make roughly $2 million more than he would have on the original option year. either way, expect him to remain the Raiders' workhorse for 2023. And go back to paying little attention to RB Zamir White.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs said Saturday that he’d like to re-sign with the team. Per Jacobs, contract talks should begin next week. “This is where I want to be,” the 25-year-old said. “I feel like I’ve left my mark on this organization. With the guys in the locker room — obviously, it’s going to be shaken up next year, but I feel like this is home. For me, this is where I want to be, but I’m not going to discredit myself trying to be here, either. So, it’s just got to make sense.” Jacobs smashed prior career highs with 393 touches and 2,053 total yards in 2022.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs (hip, oblique) is active for today’s game against Kansas City. Jacobs is the NFL’s leading rusher, and he’ll look to pad his lead in a friendly matchup. Just be aware that the Raiders — now out of the postseason picture — could take a long look at rookie Zamir White.

The Athletic's Vic Tafur believes there's a "good chance [Raiders RB Zamir] White will get his first serious action of the season" vs. the Chiefs on Saturday. RB Josh Jacobs is listed as questionable with hip and oblique injuries and missed Wednesday and Thursday's practices due to a personal issue. The Raiders have nothing to play for in the finale, so it'd make sense for them to get a look at White -- especially with Jacobs set to hit free agency in March. White is only worth considering in Saturday DFS contests, but Jacobs' floor and ceiling is lower in Week 18 than it's been all season.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs (hip, oblique) did not practice on Wednesday. The team's official website characterizes Jacobs' absence from practice as a personal day. Thursday's injury report will shed more light on whether or not the veteran will be able to suit up for Saturday's Week 18 game vs. the Chiefs. We'll keep an eye on this as more information becomes available.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs (hip, oblique) was limited in Tuesday's practice. The hip and oblique are new issues for Jacobs, who briefly left last week's loss to the 49ers. But the fact that he was out there at all on Tuesday puts him on track to play in Saturday's finale vs. the Chiefs.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs managed just 44 yards on 15 carries in Saturday night's loss to the Steelers. The yardage beat Jacobs' season low by just 1, and his 2.9 yards per carry was his worst mark of the year. Jacobs added just 1 reception for 6 yards, his fewest catches and targets (1) since Week 2. Week 17 holds an even worse matchup in a 49ers defense that sits 2nd-toughest in adjusted fantasy points allowed to RBs.
