The Bills are placing S Micah Hyde on IR after he suffered a herniated disc in his neck in Monday night's win over the Titans. He's done for the season, but Hyde's agent says they expect a full recovery for 2023. Jaquan Johnson looks like the next man up at safety for Buffalo. Hyde's absence presents a challenge for a defense facing WRs Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle this week.

The Bills have ruled S Micah Hyde (neck), CB Dane Jackson (neck), DT Jordan Phillips (hamstring) and Ed Oliver (ankle) out for Sunday's game in Miami. S Jordan Poyer (foot) is also questionable. That's a large chunk of the starting defense and could soften the matchup for Miami offensive players. You should already have been planning to start Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, though. The injuries give a slight boost to QB Tua Tagovailoa, who we've had on the fringe of starter territory in our QB rankings. We'll check Poyer's status Sunday morning.

Bills S Micah Hyde and CB Dane Jackson missed practice Wednesday. Both players left Monday night's game with neck injuries that sent them to the hospital that night. We'd bet on neither playing this week but will keep an eye on the situation. S Jordan Poyer was limited with a foot injury. DT Jordan Phillips (hamstring) also missed practice, while DT Ed Oliver (ankle) returned to a limited practice after missing all last week.

Bills S Micah Hyde (ankle) is active for today's game against the Cardinals. He's merely a low-level IDP option but available if you were waiting for him.

The Bills have placed CB Josh Norman on the COVID list after he tested positive. Buffalo has also placed TE Tyler Kroft, CB Levi Wallace and S Dean Marlowe on the list as close contacts. They won't travel for Sunday's game against the Cardinals. That removes a starting corner (Wallace) and the potential replacement for S Micah Hyde if Hyde turns up inactive. He's questionable after sustaining an ankle injury Thursday that kept him out of Friday's practice. So Buffalo could be facing Arizona down 2 of its top 3 outside CBs and starting a 3rd-stringer at safety.

Bills S Micah Hyde (concussion) is inactive for today's game against the Patriots. LB Matt Milano (pec) is active but could still see his role limited. DE Jerry Hughes (foot) and DT Quinton Jefferson (knee) are active as well.

Bills S Micah Hyde (concussion), DE Jerry Hughes (foot), LB Matt Milano (pec) and DT Quinton Jefferson (knee) are all questionable for Sunday's game against the Patriots. Hyde looks unlikely to play after missing practice all week. Hughes and Jefferson each put in a full practice Friday and looks likely to be available. Milano played through a questionable tag last week and continued to practice on a limited basis this week. He played just a fraction of his normal role in Week 7, though. We have to assume he won't be back to full playing time this week.

Bills S Micah Hyde missed Wednesday's practice and is in the concussion protocol after a collision late in Sunday's win over the Jets. We'll see about his progress, but don't bet on him facing the Patriots this Sunday. Jaquan Johnson looks like the next man up if Hyde sits.

Bills S Micah Hyde is out for today's game against the Titans with a groin injury. He has endured a slow statistical start anyway and would only have been a low-level IDP option.

Bills S Micah Hyde is questionable for Sunday's game against the Titans with a groin injury. He missed practice all week, though, and looks risky for the game. Keep him out of IDP lineups, especially after a slow statistical start to the season.

Bills S Micah Hyde is active for today's game against the Bengals. He had been questionable with a knee injury. He'll carry upside against QB Andy Dalton it what's expected to be rainy game conditions.

The Green Bay Press-Gazette reports that the Packers expect to get S Morgan Burnett back in the lineup Sunday night against the Broncos. Burnett has missed 5 of 6 games with a calf injury that originated before the season. Micah Hyde has been playing safety in Burnett's place but will likely return to his slot CB role when Burnett returns. That's expected to push CB Casey Hayward back to an outside corner slot and rookie CB Damarious Randall into a smaller role. Burnett should rejoin S Ha Ha Clinton-Dix as the most reliable IDP options in the Green Bay secondary. We'll see if Hyde can get enough work to retain what has been solid IDP value to this point. Burnett's return certainly shouldn't hurt a team D that leads the league in points allowed. The Packers refer to him as the QB of their defense.
