Rueben Randle Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

On the same day they cut WR Chris Givens, the Eagles also parted ways with WR Rueben Randle. It's a less surprising move after the team traded for WR Dorial Green-Beckham, yet it's also worth remembering that we're talking about a 25-year-old, 6'2 former 2nd-round pick at 1 of the league's highest-value positions. Randle just signed a 1-year deal with Philly in free agency this offseason and seems close to totally squandering his chance at an NFL career. His and Givens' departures at least clear some room for fellow disappointing WRs Nelson Agholor and DGB.

The Titans on Tuesday morning traded WR Dorial Green-Beckham to the Eagles for swing O-lineman Dennis Kelly. This is the biggest statement to date against DGB's work ethic, which has been questioned and called out by Tennessee all offseason. If he finally gets his stuff together, though, he'll find a wide-open WR situation in Philly. The Eagles obviously remain unhappy with Nelson Agholor's development and couldn't have been impressed with Rueben Randle's preseason debut against the Bucs. Jordan Matthews, meanwhile, remains out with a knee bruise. Green-Beckham remains a hold in dynasty leagues, but you shouldn't be any more excited about his 2016 outlook today than you were yesterday. Rishard Matthews and Tajae Sharpe, meanwhile, gain safety as late-round fantasy football draft picks without the spectre of DGB's talent looming.

Eagles WR Chris Givens ran with the 1st-team offense on Monday. He and Nelson Agholor worked as the outside WRs, with Jordan Matthews in the slot. Beat writer Eliot Shorr-Parks writes that "it's becoming more and more clear that Givens is going to start" this season. We'll see if he can hold off Rueben Randle and Josh Huff for snaps. Matthews remains the only Eagles WR we're particularly interested in drafting right now.

Eagles WR Nelson Agholor "hasn't come anywhere close" to stepping up and taking control of the #2 WR job so far this offseason, according to insider Eliot Shorr-Parks. "The issues with drops that plagued him last year continued into OTAs," Shorr-Parks says. That's on top of the strip club incident that got Agholor accused of sexual assault. Shorr-Parks predicts that Reuben Randle will win the team's #2 WR job. We'll track the battle through training camp, although neither Agholor nor Randle is a good bet for reliable fantasy value.

Eagles WR Nelson Agholor won't face charges after being accused of sexual assault by a stripper, according to the Philadelphia Enquirer's Les Bowen. That should mean Agholor also avoids an NFL suspension. He'll head to training camp as the favorite for #2 WR duties, behind Jordan Matthews and ahead of Rueben Randle, Chris Givens and Josh Huff.

The Eagles have signed WR Rueben Randle to a 1-year deal, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.  Randle was met with a cold free-agent market after a mostly frustrating 4 years with the Giants.  But he's still only 24 and is coming off a 2015 season that saw him set career highs with 8 TDs and a 63% catch rate.  Randle actually scored more PPR points per target than Odell Beckham last year.  He's a fine flier for Philadelphia, where he'll compete with Nelson Agholor for #2 WR duties behind Jordan Matthews.

The NFL has announced that it upheld the 1-game suspension for Giants WR Odell Beckham, according to FOX Sports' Mike Garafolo. That means the Giants will lean on Rueben Randle and Hakeem Nicks at WR. The situation also raises the target ceiling for slot WR Dwayne Harris and should only further motivate the team to run Rashad Jennings coming off arguably his 2 best games of the season. Beckham's absence also lowers the overall scoring ceiling for the Giants and QB Eli Manning.

Giants WR Rueben Randle (hamstring) is active for today’s game against the Bucs. He tweaked the hammy last week but practiced on Thursday and Friday. Randle remains a shaky WR3.

Giants WR Rueben Randle (hamstring) is questionable for this weekend's game against the Bucs.  He put in limited practices on Thursday and Friday and will likely play on Sunday.  But at less than 100%, Randle is an extremely shaky fantasy start.

Giants WR Odell Beckham (hamstring) is active for tonight's game against the Eagles.  He looked just fine in warmups and is the top WR play in the game.  WR Rueben Randle (hamstring) is also active and is a risk/reward WR3.

Giants WR Rueben Randle (hamstring) was upgraded to a full participant in Friday's practice.  He's good to go for Monday night's game against the Eagles.  That plus matchup puts him in the WR3 mix.  His ceiling will be raised if WR Odell Beckham (hamstring) can't go.

Giants WR Rueben Randle (hamstring) practiced on Thursday.  That puts him on track to play in Monday night's plus matchup against the Giants.  Randle's volume and fantasy upside depends on whether WR Odell Beckham (hamstring) is able to play.

Giants HC Tom Coughlin is hoping WRs Odell Beckham and Rueben Randle can practice later this week.  "We'll see how fast they respond," Coughlin added.  Beckham was able to return for a few plays in Sunday night's win over the 49ers, so he should be ready for Week 6.  Randle never returned and is iffier.  Both guys have an extra day to get healthy with Giants-Eagles playing on Monday night.

Giants WR Rueben Randle injured his hamstring in the 4th quarter of Sunday night's game and did not return.  He finished with 5 catches on 6 targets for 42 yards.  We should get an update on his status on Monday.

Giants WR Victor Cruz (calf) is out for Sunday night’s game against the 49ers. He’s yet to return to practice and has no timeline for return. Rueben Randle will continue to serve as New York’s #2 WR with Dwayne Harris as the #3.

Giants HC Tom Coughlin ruled WR Victor Cruz (calf) out for this weekend's game against the Bills.  He suffered a setback in his return to practice on Wednesday and should be considered week-to-week again.  It leaves Reuben Randle as New York's clear-cut #2 WR, but he's a shaky fantasy play in Buffalo this week.

Giants WR Victor Cruz tried to participate in individual drills on Wednesday.  It didn't go well.  "Victor came out and tried to do individuals. He felt the calf again and that's all he did," HC Tom Coughlin said afterward.  It now looks like Cruz won't make his debut this weekend against the Bills.  That'll mean another game for Rueben Randle as the clear #2 WR.  We're still not ready to trust him in fantasy lineups, despite last week's big outing.

Giants WR Victor Cruz (calf) is out for Sunday’s game against the Falcons. He’s yet to return to practice and has no timetable for return. Rueben Randle and Preston Parker will serve as New York’s #2 and #3 WRs, but neither guy is a reliable fantasy play.

Giants WR Victor Cruz (calf) has been ruled out for Sunday night's game against the Cowboys.  He didn't practice at all this week and doesn't appear particularly close to a return.  Rueben Randle will be the clear-cut #2 WR this weekend and is an interesting DFS option in what should be a shootout.
