Frank Clark Injury Updates | Shark Bites

Chiefs DE Frank Clark (neck) is active for today's game against the Titans. He carries attractive sack upside after missing the past 2 games. CB Kendall Fuller (thumb) in inactive, missing his 4th straight game since sustaining a thumb injury. That's good news for Titans slot WR Adam Humphries.

The Chiefs get DT Chris Jones back from a groin injury for today's game against the Vikings. He had missed the past 3 games. DE Frank Clark (neck) and CB Kendall Fuller (thumb) are inactive once again, though.

Seahawks DT Jarran Reed and DE Frank Clark each sat out Thursday's practice after putting in limited workouts Wednesday. Clark's dealing with an elbow injury, while Reed has an oblique issue. Each appeared to arise in Monday night's win over the Vikings. We'll see if the Thursday absences are bad news or catch-up maintenance after Seattle played the late game in Week 14. Reed and Clark both look like starting options for IDP owners if they're healthy heading into the weekend.

The Seahawks on Friday placed DE Cliff Avril on IR with the neck injury he suffered Oct. 1 against the Colts. The team reportedly doesn't know yet whether he'll be able to return after 8 games. Avril has been getting "numerous" opinions from doctors, according to multiple reports, and is likely contemplating his football future even beyond this season. IDP owners can go ahead and dump him for another option. Frank Clark will continue to replace Avril in the starting lineup.

Seahawks HC Pete Carroll said Monday that DE Cliff Avril will be out "a while" after suffering a neck injury Sunday night that is causing numbness down 1 of his arms. Frank Clark should see a spike in playing time as long as Avril is out and makes for a solid IDP option. Seattle will visit the Rams in Week 5 before a Week 6 bye.

The Seahawks have ruled DE Michael Bennett (knee) out for Sunday's game at New Orleans. Bennett suffered the injury back in Week 6 and sat out practice this week, but he started last week's game at Arizona and played 81 snaps. So this comes as a surprise. DE Frank Clark should see significantly more snaps in Bennett's absence, though the Saints matchup isn't great for sack upside. ESPN's Sheil Kapadia reports that Bennett will get his knee checked Monday for a cartilage issue that might require surgery. Seattle will also miss S Kam Chancellor (groin) this weekend for the 3rd straight game, leaving Kelcie McCray to start in his place again.
