Chris Jones Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

The Chiefs and DT Chris Jones have agreed to terms, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Jones, of course, held out through training camp and Thursday night's home loss to the Lions. Bet on Jones immediately reclaiming his role. We'll see this week, though, if he's ready to get right back to his normal playing time. Jones typically played 80%+ of K.C.'s defensive snaps last season. He and the Chiefs visit Jacksonville this Sunday. The Jaguars limited Jones to just 1 solo tackle and 1 QB hit in their playoff meeting, but Jones went for 1.5 sacks in Kansas City's Week 10 victory over them.

Chiefs DT Chris Jones remains away from the team as K.C. prepares for Thursday night's opener against the Lions. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that the player and team are still "not close on a deal" for boosting Jones' contract. The situation adds obvious risk to Jones in IDP leagues. We haven't moved the veteran down our IDP rankings, though, because plenty of upside remains whenever he does return. You'll need to decide how to balance the risk with the upside on Jones at draft time. Not having Jones, of course, would hurt the Chiefs' team defense. You shouldn't be looking to use them against Detroit in Week 1 anyway, though.

Chiefs DT Chris Jones did not report to training camp with the rest of the team Saturday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Jones has been looking for a new contract ahead of the final season on his existing deal. Schefter reports that the "two sides remain far apart." We'll see how this one progresses for one of the league's top D-linemen. For now, we're not moving Jones down our IDP rankings.

Chiefs DT Chris Jones (illness) is active for today's game against the Texans. Use him as planned in your IDP lineups.

Chiefs DT Chris Jones is questionable for Sunday's game against the Texans after missing Friday's practice with an illness. It was the 1st time this week that he showed up on the injury report. We'll check Jones' status Sunday morning.

The Chiefs have placed DT Chris Jones on the COVID list, HC Andy Reid revealed to reporters today. That likely means he's out for Thursday night's game against the Chargers. We'll watch to confirm that, of course.

Chiefs DL Chris Jones (hand/wrist) and CB Charvarius Ward (quad) are active for today's game against the Titans.

The Chiefs have ruled LB Anthony Hitchens out for Sunday's game against the Titans. He's listed on the injury report with a triceps contusion, but it sounds like a nerve issue in his right elbow might be more significant. His absence leaves Ben Niemann and Nick Bolton as the likely LB leaders, with Bolton the more attractive IDP option. DL Chris Jones (hand) and CB Charvarius Ward (quad) are questionable for the game. Jones had missed time with a wrist injury but appears to have moved on from that. He finished the week with a full practice. Ward put in limited practices all week.

The Chiefs have ruled DL Chris Jones (wrist) and CB Charvarius Ward (quad) out for Sunday's game at Washington. LB Anthony Hitchens (knee) is questionable. He finished the week with a full Friday workout, though. We'll check his status Sunday morning.

Chies DL Chris Jones (wrist) is inactive for tonight's game against the Bills. He has been dealing with the injury for multiple games but must have aggravated it against the Eagles in Week 4.

Chiefs DL Chris Jones is questionable for Sunday night's game against the Bills with a wrist injury. He played through a questionable tag for the same issue at Philadelphia last week, but Jones then missed the entire week of practice. We'd try not to use him in IDP lineups this weekend, especially because you'll need to wait until about 7 p.m. ET Sunday to confirm that he's playing.

Chiefs DE Frank Clark put in a full practice Wednesday. That's not something he's done much so far this season, including the past 2 weeks. Clark missed both of those games with a hamstring injury. That came on the opposite leg from the one that cost him Week 1 (with another hamstring injury). It looks like Clark is on track to play the Bills this Sunday. We'd rather see him play before getting him back into IDP lineups, though. DL Chris Jones, meanwhile, missed practice with his wrist issue. Unless Jones has suffered a setback, we'd bet on this just being a management thing.

Chiefs DE Frank Clark (hamstring) and CB Charvarius Ward (quad) are questionable for Sunday's game at Philadelphia. Each guy put in limited practices all week after missing last Sunday's loss to the Chargers. We'd try not to use either player in IDP lineups even if active. DL Chris Jones, meanwhile, is of the final injury report after putting in a full Friday workout. He played through a questionable tag last week with a wrist injury and fell short of his usual playing time. Jones then opened this week with a pair of limited practices. It seems the wrist should be better for Sunday's game, though.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the Chiefs are "optimistic" DL Chris Jones will play today against the Chargers. He's officially questionable with a wrist injury but put in limited practices all week.

Chiefs DL Chris Jones is questionable for Sunday’s game against the Chargers with a wrist injury. He put in limited practices all week, so we’d bet on Jones playing. But we’ll check his status Sunday
