Kansas City listed him as questionable for tonight's game against the Bills, and Gay shouldn't be in anyone's IDP plans yet. He has significant upside through the rest of the season, though.

Gay has run a clear second even when Drue Tranquill has started in place of an injured Nick Bolton (as is the case now). Leo Chenal should be Gay's fill-in if he goes inactive in Germany.
