The Patriots on Sunday activated RB Antonio Gibson off the non-football illness list. He missed less than a week of training camp.
2024 Fantasy Football Impact
There wasn't much initial info on why Gibson opened training camp on the non-football injury/illness list. The fact that it was an illness is good news for his outlook. That he's already back, of course, is the best news.
There's plenty of time for Gibson to work into his role and get comfy with the QBs through training camp and preseason.
That said, we probably won't know until regular-season games just how New England will split the backfield work.
Gibson looked like a strong bet to siphon significant receiving work right after he signed. The big contract extension Rhamondre Stevenson got more recently, however, might indicate he'll maintain something closer to a workhorse role.
Fortunately, both look like solid-to-good values in our RB rankings. So you can consider either/both in your drafts.
Rankings Movement
Gibson made no move in our rankings for his NFI deactivation.
Projected ADP Movement
He has, however, seen his best ball ADP slide over the past month, according to the trends in our data.
