Bills RB James Cook delivered 107 rushing yards and 2 TDs in Sunday's comeback win over New England. It's a major shock that Cook managed 22 carries, as the Bills fell behind 21-0 in the second quarter. The veteran RB also added a receiving score on 2 catches for 4 yards.
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Cook’s underlying numbers proved impressive.
He notched +1.6 rush yards over expected per attempt, plus 4.6 yards after contact per attempt. His yards per carry (4.9) easily topped his expected YPC of 3.3, per Next Gen Stats.
Cook is now up to eight games of 100+ rushing yards. He entered the season with seven such games for his career (postseason included).
For the year, Cook’s 76% carry share has been topped by only three RBs (Bijan Robinson, Quinshon Judkins, and Jonathan Taylor). Backup RBs Ray Davis and Ty Johnson have combined for only 62 carries.
Expect his hefty workloads to continue down the stretch for matchups with the Browns, Eagles, and Jets. Cook is a locked-in RB1.
Dynasty Impact
Recall that the Bills signed Cook to a contract extension in August. At 26 years old, he hits our dynasty RB rankings as a top-ten option.
