Fox's Jay Glazer reports that the Raiders plan to shut Edge Maxx Crosby down for the season's final two games. Crosby -- who has been playing through at least a knee injury for a while -- reportedly does not like the team's decision.
What They're Saying
Glazer: "Raiders told Maxx Crosby they want to shut him down last two games. Crosby, who has played with injuries for much of the year, vehemently disagreed and has left the building, NFL on Fox has learned. This could lead to questions on his future in Vegas."
Dynasty Impact
When are there not questions about Crosby's future with the Raiders? At the very least, last offseason and this year's trade deadline presented plenty of murmurs about him potentially being on the move.
A trade would make sense. These Raiders remain far away from contending and presented no reason for optimism so far this year. They sit 2-13 with no answer at QB and a terrible O-line in front of the RB they drafted sixth overall (for some reason).
Crosby's easily the most valuable piece on the roster, with TE Brock Bowers closest. Bowers obviously isn't going anywhere, just two years into a rookie contract with a fifth-year team option.
A potential trade would likely carry little-to-no dynasty impact, because Crosby's a beast. He can beast out anywhere. And there doesn't appear to be any long-term concern to the injury (or injuries) prematurely ending his 2025 campaign.
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
The impact here is minimal as well. The Raiders' team defense hasn't been a real option against any opponent even with Crosby in the lineup.
Individually, no replacement carries much IDP intrigue.
This is a unit to avoid across fantasy formats, outside of LB Devin White for IDP usage.
Other Winners & Losers
The Giants' offense wins by Crosby getting ruled out. But this was a positive matchup anyway. Don't go crazy upgrading QB Jaxson Dart or RB Tyrone Tracy in your Week 17 fantasy plans.
