WR Romeo Doubs has agreed to terms with the New England Patriots on a four-year, $80m deal. After releasing WR Stefon Diggs, the Patriots desperately needed to add to their WR group and will sign the former Packers' WR. He has the potential be lead the Patriots' WRs in snaps opposite of Kayshon Boutte on the outside. His contract indicates a committment to getting Doubs on the field to continue helping the development of QB Drake Maye.
What They're Saying
Jeremy Fowler of ESPN: "Romeo Doubs and the Patriots have reached an agreement on a four-year, $80M deal, per sources."
2026 Fantasy Football Impact
Doubs had the best season of his career in 2025. He finished with the 19th-most receiving EPA (+27.6) according to Next Gen Stats.
Doubs led the Packers' WRs with 832 total snaps, 77% of the team's snaps in the games he played. The next highest was Matthew Golden at 487 snaps. Doubs should see a similar snap count on the Patriots.
Unfortunately, the large snap count did not necessarily produce for fantasy managers. Doubs finished as WR38 in PPR points per game (6.9) with the Packers spreading the ball around.
The Patriots' offense operates in a similar manner. Diggs led the Patriots WRs in PPR ppg (7.6), finishing as WR26, despite only being third among Patriots WRs in snaps.
The Patriots may also not be done addressing the position. They may acquire another WR in free agency (or by trade) and could even draft another young WR.
We will continue to monitor, but Doubs ceiling likely remains limited despite the weak WR room.
Other Winners & Losers
Drake Maye is the big winner. Adding another consistent outside weapon should help elevate his play and fantasy potential.
This throws some cold water on second-year WR Kyle Williams, who will go back to a reserve deep threat role, similar to his rookie year.
Projected ADP Movement
The open WR room of the Patriots will likely improve Doubs' ADP. He currently sits at WR57 in Underdog Best Ball ADP. That will likely go up after the signing.
